Pokemon Platinum Gijinka Team - Amber

Bio: Like most of her kind, Amber spent her days happily hopping around the vicinity of Eterna Forest. Though, whereas most Buneary prefer to play with each other, Amber usually kept to herself. It wasn’t that she didn’t have any friends, but that she preferred the peace and quiet that solitude gave her; gave her time to think to herself and relax to the sounds of the forest.

However, fate has an unusual way of bringing people together. One fateful night, Amber had accidentally run into a rather malicious Gastly, and had chased her far away from the rest of her clan. She wandered the deep woods trying to find her way back when she found a young trainer making camp in a nearby clearing. Lost, exhausted, and hungry, she attempted to try and swipe some of the trainer’s food. That is, until the trainer’s Luxio took notice and quickly cornered her. Fearing the worst, she closed her eyes and braced herself for his attack…but it never came. When she looked at the Luxio, she noticed the way he was looking at her. Where she expected to see anger, she instead saw…curiosity? Confusion? Sympathy? She couldn’t quite place it, but something about him seemed…gentler that she was expecting, which made her curious. The two continued to stare into each other’s eyes for what seemed like hours, until the Luxio’s trainer finally noticed what was going on. The trainer looked at Amber for a few moments before offering something that the young Buneary had never expected: To come along with him as his partner.

At first, Amber was apprehensive. She had never once thought of ever leaving the forest before, and she didn’t know what dangers lied beyond the its borders. But…there was something about this Luxio. Something about the way he looked at her. Something…that she wanted to find out for herself. With a small nod, she took up the trainer on his offer.

The months that followed were definitely difficult. While she was happily accepted by the rest of the team, a looming sense of inadequacy followed her at every turn. This was a team that was bent on tackling the Pokemon League, housing some of the strongest Pokemon in the whole region. And, while she certainly she gave it her best, she was NOT a fighter, and always seemed to be playing catch-up while her other teammates continued to soar to new heights. And then there was Thresh, a nasty piece of work that, while he was a Grade-A jerk to pretty much everyone, was especially brutal towards her; constantly belittling her, calling her weak, useless.

Thankfully, Sparx was there to help her through those tough times. While the few weeks of interactions were a bit awkward, the two started gaining a genuine fondness for each other, to the point where you'd see the two of them apart. They talked together, relaxed together, even trained together. Sparx even started defending her when Thresh started harassing her, something he never would have done a few weeks prior. They gave each other confidence, and Amber relished every moment of that. She could tell that this was beyond just simple friendship...this was...something more...

It all led up to one fateful day. The team was locked in an intense battle against their trainer's rival in Canalave City. The battle was fierce, and against all odds, Amber had valiantly secured the team a total knockout victory. It was Amber's first truly major victory, and the amount of elation and confidence it instilled was breath-taking. Taking this confidence in stride, Amber made two incredibly brave decisions shortly after this. First, she finally confessed her love towards Sparx. Through their entire journey, Sparx had supported her, defended her, made her feel like she was something truly special. Him being by her side made her happier than any one Pokemon should be, and she wanted that feeling to last forever. And much to her excitement, Sparx had, in turn, returned his own feeling for her, for giving him someone truly worth fighting and caring for.

The second...was a personal request to her trainer: To retire from battling. The others were extremely confused as to why she would do this but she stood firm about her decision. While she was more than thrilled to finally have a proper victory, it was only her FIRST victory, whereas everyone else had already proven themselves many times over by this point. She just...didn't see herself as a fighter, and felt that she'd only hold back the team if she stayed as an active member. Though the decision took the trainer by surprise, he understood her dilemma, and granted her request. Though Amber was now no longer an active team member, she would continue to tag along with the group for moral support.

Shortly afterwards, during a training expedition on Iron Island, the group had encountered a young Riolu girl named Aura, which had been entrusted to the trainer by a man named Riley. While the rest of the team welcomed her with open arms (save for Thresh), Amber took an especially big liking to her. It broke her heart hearing how young Aura had been cast aside at such a young age, and took it upon herself to look after and care for her. It was actually a little amusing how quickly how much of a mother Amber became when Aura joined, though seeing how happy she made her was always a pleasant sight to see. In fact, after a lot of discussion between Sparx, Aura, and her trainer, Amber eventually decided to adopt the young Riolu girl as her own, as a means to give her the family she (Aura) never had.

As mentioned before, fate has an unusual way of bringing people together. And for Amber, she wouldn't have it any other way.

OH MY GOD. I am so sorry for massive wall of text that is her bio, but MAN...I had this backstory stirring for a while now, and...apparently there was a lot more to say than I realized!

Anyways, if you recall from back when I making gijinkas of my Pokemon Platinum team, there was one other team member that I mentioned several times and that I said I would make a separate bio for in the future. THIS is that team member.

Amber was...honestly a bit of an experimental team member. I wanted to try out this super-specific strategy with her and see how well it worked. Basically, she'd use Attract to stop the foe from attacking, and then, while they were immobilized, I'd spam the heck out of Double Team. Then, I'd use Baton Pass to pass all the evasion buffs onto another, stronger team member, making them basically untouchable.
Sadly, I only got to use this once, because HMs are terrible and I had forgotten how late in the game the Move Deleter was, so she was kinda just spare baggage until I got Riolu at Iron Island. Still, nice to know that the strategy worked! XD

As for the design of her gijinka, I feel it came out pretty good! I feel it's a nice change from the usual sexy bunny-girl trope I see portrayed with a lot of other Lopuuny gijinkas (especially given how Mega Lopuuny looks).
